Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church

The mission of Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal church is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ; and to communicate to the world through preaching, teaching, evangelizing, worshipping, and stewardship, that “Jesus Saves!”

What is the Church?

Have you ever asked this question?  Perhaps you were at a cocktail party or even at a Church and wondered.  In this 21st century many people wonder what exactly is the Church.  They wonder is it brick & stone?  Or is it a place of gathering where people have emotional highs to get by for the week?  It is our belief that the Church is a body of people called together to witness of the death, resurrection, and love of God manifested through Jesus Christ.  In this realization we do this by the love we have and show towards others and meeting their needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Ministering to the total person in a way where we can engage all to experience the presence of God in all areas of our lives.

Vision Statement

A spirit filled fellowship engaging in fervent worship, bible based teaching and preaching, and compassionate missions driven to be the miracle in the Princeton, South Brunswick, Little Rocky Hill, Kendall Park, Monmouth Junction, and Franklin Township areas

What is the African Methodist Epsicopal Church

Incorporated in 1816 the African Methodist Episcopal Church is a denomination of liberation, reconciliation, and empowerment,  The word African means that the Church was organized by people of African descent and heritage.  It does not mean that the  church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent.

Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations that govern the church and also places emphasis on the plain and simple gospel.

What We Believe:

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.  The third day he arose from the dead, he ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
